# Update contract

POST https://api.letsdeel.com/rest/contracts/{contract_id}/amendments
Content-Type: application/json

Submits an amendment to modify the details of an existing contract. If the contract is already signed or active, the amendment must be approved and re-signed before the changes take effect. For Global Payroll contracts, calling this again while an amendment is still pending updates it in place instead of creating a new one.

 **Token scopes**: `contracts:write`
